After checking out of the hotel in Petra, we head to the Dead Sea, which is Earth’s lowest elevation on land. At 377 meters/1,237 feet deep, it is also one of the saltiest bodies of water in the world. The Dead Sea has attracted visitors from around the world because of its reputation as one of the world’s first health resorts, as well as its use in cosmetics. Here, you can try swimming in the water, which will feel like floating, and also try the beauty benefits of its mud. Later, we drive back to Amman city for a tour. Amman is a great city for sightseeing because it is a fascinating city of contrasts and a unique blend of old and new. We start the tour in the city center with the Amman Citadel, a national historic site whose settlement extended over 7,000 years. Next, we visit the ruins of the Roman Amphitheater located in the valley below, which is still in use and has room for 6,000 people. We end the tour with a walk to the Gold Souq (market) for some shopping. Finally, we are transferred to the hotel for an overnight stay in Amman.
